Casualties of Memory Itzik Galili O Balcão de Amor Itzik Galili Soul Andonis Foniadakis Beloved by Montreal audiences, BJM travels the world with a repertoire that showcases a very expressive athletic style blending elements of ballet and contemporary dance. This triple bill features choreographer Itzik Galili’s O Balcão de Amor, a piece infused with Caribbean heat and humour and pulsating with the energy of youth and a touch of absurdity, and Casualties of Memory, a highly physical work that celebrates life to the rhythm of percussive darbuka music. For his third collaboration with BJM, Andonis Foniadakis presents Soul, a vertiginous duo inspired by the song Ball and Chain, made famous by Janis Joplin and covered here by Quebec’s Angel Forrest.
