POP Montreal 2020: a hybrid edition blending in-person and online events

POP Montreal International Music Festival is a non-profit community organization that supports independent art forms, showcasing emerging and celebrated artistic talents worldwide. Now entering its 19th year, POP Montreal’s main event is a five-day long festival of music and art, which takes place in early fall, presenting more than 450 bands.

Find LIVE in-person concerts at The Rialto Theatre, Ursa and Le Ministère, and keep an eye out for secret shows! Each secret show venue will be revealed at the last minute to ticket holders; it could be a backyard, a rooftop, who knows! There will also be an Art POP exhibition at the Rialto complex, an outdoor edition of Puces POP at Parc Saint Viateur, panels and discussions with POP Symposium, and Film POP screenings at Cinéma Moderne.

Don’t forget– you will be able to experience the festival DIGITALLY through the website, which will allow attendees to wander through a virtual 2D rendition of the Rialto Theatre, with access to live-streamed concerts, panels, and performances. Find live-streamed performances from No Joy, Bodywash, Lou Canon, and Cedric Noel, just to name a few!

Launched by friends and colleagues in 2002 from the collective impulse to create a meaningful and vibrant cultural festival, POP Montreal is now entering its 19th year as a permanent fixture on the Montreal festival map and the international music circuit. Each year, the five-day festival presents more than 400 artists to audiences of over 60 000.

Delivering a bold cross-section of art forms and events, the festival includes concerts, symposium discussions, artisan and visual art exhibitions, fashion shows, film screenings, and, of course, a few all-night parties.

For musicians and artists, fans, curators, critics, record labels and industry, POP Montreal is the North American festival that provides a dynamic introduction to the next generation of musical talent and independent art forms.
