Les Grands Ballets Canadiens presents

Don Quixote

Ballet Nacional de Cuba

17th century Spain—Don Quixote de la Mancha daydreams of his illusory love, Dulcinea. Enthralled by the many romantic novels he reads day in and out, he decides to seek his true love. Along with his faithful servant, Sancho Panza, he travels across all of Spain, going from adventure to adventure, braving countless dangers and perpetually suffering from the consequences of his own naivety.

Adapted from the great literary classic penned by Miguel de Cervantes in 1605, Don Quixote is an explosion of energy and colours. Created by the masterful Alicia Alonso in 1998, this ballet is set to Léon Minkus’ stunning score. Presented by the Ballet Nacional de Cuba, it showcases the consummate skills of one of the world’s most critically acclaimed companies.

Duration: Approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes with two intermissions (20 and 15 minutes respectively).
