An especially inspired score based on the play by Voltaire, Semiramide is the last opera written by Rossini in Italy before he settled in Paris. Rising star Alina Ibragimova performs the Beethoven Violin Concerto, while Kent Nagano, in a world premiere, conducts a work by Ichiro Nodaira as part of the MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE festival.
