Renowned opera baritone Phillip Addis will join the love-themed Valentine’s repertoireChocolate and love songs for Valentine’s Day The Montrealer January 26, 2015 6832 A Gala benefit evening for the McGill Chamber Orchestra Soprano Sharon Azrieli Perez will be one of the featured vocalists The McGill Chamber Orchestra (MCO) presents the second edition of its Valentine’s Benefit evening with the theme of Chocolate and Love Songs. The event will take place at the luxurious Sofitel Hotel (1155 Sherbrooke Street West) on Saturday, February 14 at 6:30pm. Last year was a sold out success that satisfied the finest pallet and the most experienced music lovers. The event organizers promise this year will be an even better experience at the beautiful Picasso Ballroom of the Sofitel. Appetizers and an open bar will start the evening at 6:30pm. The renowned chef of the Renoir Restaurant, Olivier Perret, will present a gourmet chocolate themed dinner with wine. Thanks to La Tablette de Miss Choco, guests will enjoy a variety of chocolates and fruit for dessert along with a discussion on how to really taste and appreciate chocolate. Soprano Gianna Corbisiero will be one of the featured vocalists Famous television personality, Sonia Benezra, will be the evening’s master of ceremony. A select group of musicians from the MCO under the direction of Boris Brott will present love themed music with renowned opera baritone Phillip Addis, sopranos Gianna Corbisiero and Sharon Azrieli Perez. Repertoire for the concert will include arias from Carmen, Carousel, The Merry Widow and several others. After dinner, guests will be able to practice their best dance moves on the dance floor to the music of a DJ. It is an event not to be missed.
