Nicola Benedetti is one of the most sought-after violinists of her generation. Her ability to captivate audiences with her innate musicianship and spirited presence, coupled with her wide appeal as a high-profile advocate for classical music, has made her one of the most influential classical artists of today. Nicola was just awarded her first-ever GRAMMY® for Best Classical Instrumental Solo for her recently released recording of the Wynton Marsalis Violin Concerto with the legendary Philadelphia Orchestra and conductor Cristian Măcelaru on Decca Classics. She had the honor of performing live on the 2020 GRAMMY Awards Premiere Ceremony® where she collected her award in person. Her performance, which marked the first classical solo violin appearance on the Premiere Ceremony® in over 10 years, was streamed live internationally via GRAMMY.com. Nicola was named Best Female Artist at both the 2012 and 2013 Classical BRIT Awards. She has played the Hall on numerous occasions, including the 2012 Last Night of the Proms as well as two headline concerts. She is a long-standing supporter of the Hall’s Education & Outreach programme and has hosted a number of workshops for young musicians.
