Pianist Denis Matsuev returns to Place des Arts for one-night only

Since his spectacular win at the prestigious Tchaikovsky Music Competition in 1998, Denis Matsuev has become one of the greatest pianists in the world.

He has been invited to perform in the finest concert halls around the world; and invited to perform with some of the best-known conductors, such as Valery Gergiev, Yuri Temirkanov, Mariss Jansons, Zubin Mehta, Paavo Jarvi, Charles Dutoit, Myung-Whun Chung, Iván Fischer, and Kurt Masur.

Often compared to Horowitz, this prolific Russian pianist is able to move audiences with his emotion as well as his technical virtuosity. “Matsuev possesses the kind of virtuosity that begins where others end,’’ states an article in Gramophone.

Denis Matsuev will perform in Montreal on January 31, 2016 for one night only with a program tailored to him and his listeners.
