Orchestre Metropolitain presents

Handel’s Messiah

Rarely does a piece of music become synonymous with a time of year like Handel’s Messiah, widely considered a Christmas classic. During Advent, the iconic “Hallelujah” chorus resonates in places of worship and concert halls alike across the globe. This is even more remarkable considering that the piece was composed for Easter! But since the libretto covers the entire life of Jesus Christ, from birth to resurrection, why not perform it at Christmas?

Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts the iconic Messiah by Handel. This essential holiday concert will feature an all-Canadian cast of soloists performing against the backdrop of the gorgeous Basilique Notre-Dame.

Dazzling singing, familiar melodies, incredible drama—this piece has the power to keep audiences on the edge of their seats until the final chord. A holiday classic everyone should experience at least once in their life.
