Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM) presents

Charlie Chaplin’s The Great Dictator

Charlie Chaplin’s first talkie, The Great Dictator (1940) was nominated for five Oscars, including one for Best Original Score. In the first North American screening of its remastered version, this half-satirical, half-comedic film delivers a message of hope and tolerance through the incredible story of a humble Jewish barber and a look-alike dictator based on Hitler. The original soundtrack by Chaplin and Meredith Willson was restored by the guest conductor for the occasion, Timothy Brock.
