As part of her third North American tour, Carminho is coming to Théâtre Outremont Wednesday, October 18 at 7:30 PM, presented by Traquen’Art and Théâtre Outremont.

Admired by fans at home and abroad, the 39-year-old diva is a Portuguese icon of international renown, and one of the purest and most passionate voices in the fervent and melancholy genre that is fado.

For her third appearance in Montreal, Carminho, accompanied by four guitarists, will present Portuguesa (Warner Music, Portugal), her sixth album, which came out in March of this year on digital platforms. The CD has been distributed in North America by Nonesuch Records since August 18, 2023.

This magnificent self-produced opus incorporates all that Carminho has learned from her roots since childhood, respecting words and traditional language, while bringing a fresh and contemporary view of the world that inspires her. Critics hail her as an unrivalled artist, with her voice, her talent, her compositions and her artistic perseverance.

The performers are: Carminho: voice; André Dias: Portuguese guitar;  Flávio Cardoso: viola de fado; Tiago Maia: bass; Pedro Geraldes: lap steel guitar
