In Full Swing
Orchestre National de Jazz Montréal

In planning this second concert in the Soloist Series, trombonist and composer/arranger from the ONJ Taylor Donaldson first reflected on what drew him to jazz and big band music writing. The bright sound and power of Orchestre, the magic of jazz rhythm, melody and harmony coming together to capture the imagination, and that kind of playful camaraderie (and just plain crazy fun!) that comes from playing swinging pieces with friends.

For this occasion, the ONJ invited members of Taylor’s big band to join the group, to present a program of new original music written in this spirit.
