Mozart Arias and Beethoven’s “Pastorale” Symphony

Placing Mozart and Beethoven side by side, this brilliant concert features performances by three Canadian artists in an eclectic and virtuosic repertoire. Bernard Labadie leads the Orchestra in the Overture to Don Giovanni, alternating between drama and frivolity, as well as Beethoven’s “Pastorale” Symphony, a veritable landscape painting translated into music. Soprano Karina Gauvin, contralto Marie-Nicole Lemieux and violinist James Ehnes complete the tableau with two particularly colourful and expressive arias by Mozart.
