Arion Baroque Orchestra presents

Bach: Shadows and Light

Among the great J.S. Bach’s many gifts was his capacity to carry us from the shadows into the light, to express the beauty of life even in the light of death. If one word could characterize his body of work, it would perhaps be “hope.” Such a path is wonderfully revealed in two of his orchestral suites, as well as in vocal works such as the ever so serene and confident cantata Ich habe genug (I am content), featuring the angelic voice of Catalan soprano Nuria Rial and the expressive flute of Claire Guimond. Hank Knox, founding member of Arion, will conduct this program, which we hope will leave you truly content.
