34th L’International des Feux Loto-Québec

Immortals

A unique journey down memory lane featuring the music of immortal artists who passed away but left behind wonderful legacies.

Country: Canada

It’s the first participation in Montreal as a competitor for Apogée, who presented the out-of-competition opening display of the 32nd edition in 2016. The firm was founded in 2001 by Alain Carbonneau, an internationally renowned producer of pyromusical shows who has mesmerized audiences worldwide since 1995, namely in Shanghai, Berlin, Monaco, Seoul and the Philippines. For its Montreal debut, Apogée takes the audience on a journey down memory lane, in a tribute to the music of larger-than-life artists and musicians who passed away recently. “Immortals” is a wonderful 30-minute soundtrack featuring hits by the Cranberries, Tragically Hip, David Bowie, Prince, Johnny Hallyday, Montreal ’s les BB, and the unforgettable legendary Leonard Cohen. The list of awards won by Apogée is quite impressive. It includes First Prize at the Pyronale competition in Berlin in 2008 and Bronze in 2012, and First Prize at the Fuori di Luce, in Asiago, Italy in 2010.

The fireworks start at 10 p.m., rain or shine.
