Patinoire – Les 7 Doigts – December 19 to January 6, TOHU LiveEvents December 13, 2017 1749 Patinoire Les 7 Doigts THEATRICAL SOLO CLOWN PERFORMANCE FOR THE HOLIDAYS. In French A show by Les 7 Doigts is always an event. From success to success, the Quebec-based company has travelled the world. This time, its first solo performance, Patinoire, features one of the co-founders, Patrick Léonard—a rare occurrence— in a masterful performance where precision and rigour play alongside poetry. A tightrope walker, wacky clown, and joker, he skates hard to succeed! He makes every effort to gain admiration with his stunts. With the audience as his accomplice, this friendly eccentric multiplies the mishaps and tries, in an extremely clumsy way, to keep their attention and be someone, in order to exist. But as in life, the fall is tough. Between circus and theatre, dance and music, Patrick Léonard plays on imbalances and vulnerability, with little to nothing, asking this question: how far are we willing to go to love and be loved? A totally insane solo circus performance where comedy and stunning acts come together! “Masterful. Monumental. Unique. Crucial. A stunning one-man-show, a Peter Sellers type” – La Provence, France “A fantastic athlete and outstanding actor.” – Le Presse “Léonard hits the nail right on the head!” – Le Devoir “A worthy descendant of silent cinema, Buster Keaton or Charlie Chaplin style.” – Le Journal Du Dimanche, France Les 7 doigts de la main Les 7 doigts de la main translates literally as “the 7 fingers of the hand”. It is a twist on a French idiom (“the five fingers of the hand”) used to describe distinct parts united tightly, moving in coordination towards one common goal. Here it refers to the 7 founding directors of the company (Isabelle Chassé, Shana Carroll, Patrick Léonard, Faon Shane, Gypsy Snider, Sébastien Soldevila et Samuel Tétreault) who, by combining their distinct talents and experiences, work towards their common artistic goals with the beautifully awkward dexterity of a 7-fingered hand.
