LE POÈME HARMONIQUE
Danza!

Never did the dance hold such a prominent place as it did in 17th-century France. In this recital of works for voice accompanied by guitar and castanets, Danza! presents Spanish music performed in Paris during the Baroque period. With its folias, sarabandas, and españolas, the French ensemble Le Poème Harmonique re-establishes the importance of Spanish culture in the ballets de cour under Louis XIII and Louis XIV, as well as the French infatuation with the Iberian culture.

Isabelle Druet was crowned “Révélation artiste lyrique” at the 2010 Victoires de la Musique in France, and pursues a remarkable international career. Her regular contributions to projects with Le Poème Harmonique are consistently met with critical and public acclaim.
