A Show at the Garden

Guest artists at the Botanical Garden every Sunday

Every Sunday afternoon, music is in the spotlight in the heart of the Botanical Garden. Take a comfortable seat, relax and enjoy the sunshine and let our guest artists serenade you in a restful summertime setting.

July 30 – Catherine Major
Presented at the north of the Japanese Garden at 2pm.
Catherine Major holds nothing back as she performs her eclectic, compassionate repertoire; some of her songs are searing and intense, and others deeply intimate. In perfect harmony with her piano and her musicians, she invites us to join her in a stirring sound landscape.

August 6 – Luce Dufault
Luce Dufault delights in bringing us her best-loved tunes – classics that reveal a singer at the peak of her art. Her voice, sometimes touching and compelling, and at others dizzying and explosive, melds seamlessly with the natural setting.

August 13 – Marie-Élaine Thibert
Presenting Cent mille chansons
Since finishing as everyone’s favourite in the very first edition of Star Académie, in 2003, Marie-Élaine Thibert has made her way into our hearts. With her immense talent and exceptional voice, she brings us some of the classics from her repertoire.

August 20 – Shawn Phillips
The best music industry’s best-kept secret
Shawn Phillips has recorded some fifteen albums and worked with the biggest musicians on the planet, including Eric Capton, Paul Buckmaster, J. Peter Robinson, Joni Mitchell, Donovan and the Beatles, to mention only a few. He’ll be performing some pieces from his vast repertoire, ranging from folk rock to jazz, progressive rock, pop and even classical.

August 27 -Louis-Jean Cormier
An artist very much of his time
He first hit the scene performing with Karkwa, and then his first solo album, Le treizième étage, won not one but three Félix awards in 2012. After that, Louis-Jean Cormier truly took off. In addition to performing as a singer-guitarist, he has created and directed other shows, including 12 hommes rapaillés, inspired by Gaston Miron’s poetry. Today, in the heart of our garden and nature, he shares the sincere, colourful poetry from his second album, Les grandes artères.
