So who better to host a special double duty Gala at this year’s festival? We’re looking forward to having this raucous duo share our Just for Laughs stage. Starring: Colin Jost Colin Jost returns for his third season as co-anchor of Saturday Night Live’s “Weekend Update,” alongside fellow cast member Michael Che. Jost joined the cast as “Weekend Update” co-anchor on March 1, 2014. Previously at SNL, Jost served as co-head writer since 2012 and as a staff writer since 2005. Jost has won three Writers Guild Awards, a Peabody Award and has been nominated for multiple Emmy Awards for his writing on SNL. He also wrote and starred in the Paramount/ Netflix film, Staten Island Summer, based on his days as a lifeguard growing up in New York. Jost is a Staten Island native and Harvard graduate. Michael Che Critics and audiences agree, NY-based writer, actor and standup comedian Michael Che is a star on the rise. Having been named one of Rolling Stone’s “50 Funniest People,” Buzzfeed’s “50 Hottest Men in Comedy,” and Variety’s “Top 10 Comics To Watch,” he is quickly leaving his mark on the media landscape. A native of lower Manhattan, Che’s comedy uses humor to identify humanity in the most controversial actions. Che is currently the co-anchor of Saturday Night Live’s iconic “Weekend Update” segment where he is also a staff writer. He recently released his first hour-long stand-up special entitled Michael Che Matters on Netflix. His first special aired in 2014 on Comedy Central’s The Half-Hour stand-up series. Prior to joining SNL, Che was part of “The Best F*&#ing News Team Ever!” as a correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. He was the first-ever standup to perform on NBC’s , Late Night with Seth Meyers and has also appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman. His television and film appearances include Chris Rock’s Top Five, Comedy Central’s @midnight, and Vh1’s Best Week Ever. Featuring: Jim Norton American stand up comedian, radio personality, bestselling author and actor, Jim Norton is the morning co-host of The Jim Norton & Sam Roberts Show on SiriusXM Satellite Radio. His latest stand up special, Mouthful of Shame is streaming now on Netflix where Jim lays out a full serving of refreshingly unapologetic humor in his first Netflix comedy special. For 14 years, Norton was 3rd mic on the Opie and Anthony Show. In May 2016, he was announced as co-host of UFC’s Unfiltered Podcast with Jim Norton & Matt Serra. Since 2014 he has been a contributor to Time Magazine. He has an additional 4 one-hour comedy specials that can be seen on Hulu and HBO GO. Lil Rel Howery Lil Rel Howery is fresh off a breakout role as Rod the TSA agent in Jordan Peele’s hit movie Get Out, which won him the award for “Best Comedic Performance” at the MTV Movie & TV Awards in 2017. He also stars as Jerrod’s brother, Bobby Carmichael, in NBC’s comedy The Carmichael Show and can be seen this upcoming season on HBO’s Insecure. Howery’s standup special RELevant premiered on Comedy Central and was named one of the 10 best stand-up specials of 2015 by Vulture.com. Howery’s first standup special, an installment of Comedy Central’s The Half Hours, premiered in 2013. Howery can also be seen in the cast of the weekly sketch comedy show Friends of the People on TruTV. Howery starred, wrote and executive produced the series. Steve Byrne Steve has risen through the ranks of the comedy world to become one of the industry’s most innovative and sought-after performers. He was the star and creator of Sullivan & Son, a half hour comedy on TBS along with Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Productions for three seasons. His third hour special Champion debuted on Netflix in May 2014 to rave reviews and his two previous specials, Steve Byrne’s Happy Hour and The Byrne Identity were two of the top rating specials on Comedy Central. His acting resume includes feature films like The Dilemma, Couples Retreat and his television resume include ABC’s The Middle, Chappelle’s Show, The Howard Stern Show and standup appearances on TBS’s Conan, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, a total of 10 appearances on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Sarah Millican Sarah Millican is an award-winning stand-up comedian and writer. Since winning the 2008 if.comedy Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Sarah has fast-established herself as a household name. In 2013 she was also nominated for the British Comedy Awards Best Female TV Comic for the fourth time. In the autumn of 2010 she embarked on her first national tour, Chatterbox, which completely sold out and in March 2011 announced her second national tour, Thoroughly Modern Millican, which sold over 190,000 tickets. Her fourth tour, Outsider, was also a sell-out and concluded in September 2016. In 2014 Sarah started Standard Issue, an online magazine for women. Sarah is currently writing her debut book, which is due to be released in October 2017. Ivan Decker Some Stuff You Should Know About Ivan! He appears regularly on CBC’s The Debaters This will be his fourth year at the Just For Laughs festival He’s had multiple TV tapings on CBC as part of the Winnipeg and Halifax Comedy festivals Phil Hanley Phil Hanley began standup comedy by performing at open mics around Vancouver, often in between bands at music venues. In these establishments he discovered and honed his unique blending of material and crowd interaction that makes no two of his performances the same. Phil’s style can best be described as unpredictably reflective, delivered with sharp accuracy, and rooted in the grand tradition of joke-telling.
