A Quartet in Paris

A Quartet in Paris recreates the 1737 premiere of Telemann’s Paris Quartets in the city whose name they bear. The performers on that occasion were accomplished composers, knowledgeable travellers, and instrumental virtuosi in their own right: Blavet at the traverso (transverse flute); Guignon at the violin, Forqueray at the viola da gamba, and Telemann himself at the harpsichord!
