Les FrancoFolies de Montréal

Since 1989, Les FrancoFolies de Montréal has been the true reflection of a thriving French-speaking music world! Dozens of indoor shows and more than 150 free outdoor concerts attest to the effervescent quality, diversity and energy of a music-rich fun-filled program! Every year, Montrealers and tourists throng to the safe, festive FrancoFolies site for an entire 10 days in the downtown core, to savour the best musical talents of the French-speaking world. Let’s tell it like it is: Montreal is the place to let loose!

Over 150 free outdoor shows are presented from 5 p.m. to midnight.

From refreshing new discoveries to incredible return engagements and tailor-made creations in rock, folk, chanson, hip-hop… and above all, in French, here’s an inkling of the best music on the francophone scene, at home and abroad! Gainsbourg symphonique

Marking the 25th anniversary of the death of Serge Gainsbourg, Les FrancoFolies proudly present Gainsbourg symphonique, with the lovely voice of Jane Birkin–muse and companion of the late, lamented French singer-songwriter–accompanied by the brilliant Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, conducted by the incomparable Simon Leclerc, a man with a peerless reputation in symphonic pop! The evening opens with Arthur H, also accompanied by the OSM, performing the Gainsbourg masterpiece Histoire de Melody Nelson in its entirety. A historic concert event. Diane Dufresne, Intemporelle, un temps pour elle
