Chef Patrick Turcot is excited about hosting the 13th Gala des Grands Chefs at the historic Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu This year’s annual gala will feature female chefs from the Charlevoix region as well as several of Fairmont’s leading chefs. Chef Turcot anticipates some friendly and spirited competition as the six participating chefs bring their best to the splendid kitchens at Le Manoir Richelieu. World famous sommelier Jessica Harnois will be the Master of Ceremonies for the Gala. Ms. Harnois is the president of the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers. She worked as a sommelier in some of the greatest establishments in the world like Tetsuya’s in Sydney (Australia, 5th best restaurant in the world in 2007) and Charlie Trotter’s in Chicago (United States, 30th best restaurant in the world in 2007). Until recently she was working as a wine buyer for the SAQ Signature Services. The Chefs include: Chef Marie-Chantale Lepage from the critically acclaimed Restaurant L’Espace MC Chef in Quebec City’s old port area. Chef Colombe St-Pierre, co-owner of Restaurant Chez St-Pierre in Rimouski Chef Dana Hauser of the Hotel Fairmont Waterfront in Vancouver, the first female Executive Chef in the Fairmont chain.
