Half Moon Run – May 30, 2024 LiveEvents May 23, 2024 684 Half Moon Run is a brand new one-day festival curated by Half Moon Run that encompasses the spirit of the Montreal music scene and community. The band has always considered Montreal their home and it remains one of their most loyal fanbases, so it felt only natural for them to centre their first venture into festival curation around the very city that shaped them. “What a thrill it is to finally announce our full lineup! We’ve been chatting with some artist friends about surprise appearances (!), and visiting our favourite local food vendors to make sure the hospitality is on point. This is by far our biggest and most anticipated show of the year!” – Half Moon Run The lineup, curated by Half Moon Run and featuring some of the most exciting names in indie music, kicks off with co-headliners Men I Trust, who have now become a pillar of the indie scene, with more than 9M monthly listeners on Spotify and two sold-out MTELUS shows in the past year. After rocking last year’s Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, New York’s Nick Hakim will be joining the bill for an electric set. Hakim is guaranteed to bring his own signature merging of musical genres, embracing fluidity between R&B, soul, indie, psychedelia and more. If you’re looking for an intimate and authentic musical performance, be sure to catch Ariane Roy’s set. The JUNO and SOCAN-nominated artist, who sings in both English and French, has certainly positioned herself one of Quebec’s artists to watch. Her passion and intensity on stage are supported by lyrics that reflect on femininity, empowerment, and the acceptance of darker aspects. You’ll be in your feelings at the Olympic Park as Roy will deliver strong melodies with musical contrast, making her a unique and unapologetic performer. Also joining the lineup is the talented JUNO-nominated folk singer Gabrielle Shonk, who’s album Across the Room discovers the enormity of heartache and the hope that comes with endings and new beginnings. Her unique songwriting, paired with her unforgettable and comforting voice, are surely a winning combo for L’Appel Montréal’s stage! Catch folk-rocker Alex Nicol’s vulnerable set for emotional relief by way of music. The Montreal-based singer-songwriter released Been A Long Year Vol. 1 and 2 in December, which includes “Simple Fires”, a track about the devastating Canadian wildfires of summer 2023. Discover emerging artist Sandra Contour and bring on feelings of nostalgia! Her debut single “J’avais pas mon téléphone” unpacks the heatbreaking feelings of foggy memories and difficult break-ups. She’ll play that one, and perhaps some unreleased songs from her forthcoming album. Olympic Park To purchase your tickets visit: www.evenko.ca
