Goût de France: a celebration of French Gastronomy LiveEvents October 14, 2021 3099 The international event Goût de France returns to Canada for a 6th edition At the initiative of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and Alain Ducasse, and in partnership with the Centre-Val de Loire Region, Goût de France 2021 returns to celebrate French gastronomy and its actors around the world through a series of events organized from October 14 to 22, 2021. After Nouvelle-Aquitaine (Bordeaux) and Provence, this year’s spotlight will be on the Centre-Val de Loire destination, a historic symbol of French art de vivre and excellence. At the forefront of a global mobilization in favor of the environment and a more responsible cuisine, this new edition has designated as its ambassador the two-starred chef Christophe Hay, recently crowned “2021 Chef of the Year” by the Gault & Millau gastronomic guide in recognition of his commitment to local, sustainable and solidarity-based gastronomy. An international edition: 24 restaurants or food shops participating throughout Canada Celebrating the world of the restaurant industry, Goût de France 2021 will be putting France in the spotlight around the world. This new edition also mobilizes chefs in Canada to prepare and serve “French-style dinners” in several consulates, at the Embassy as well as in participating establishments. After more than a year and a half of a pandemic, this year’s edition will be placed under the sign of the “renaissance” of gastronomy and its new eco-responsible challenges. In Quebec City, Chez Jules and Le Quarante are participating. In Toronto, four restaurants will display the Goût de France menu. In Western Canada, 9 establishments registered from Calgary to Vancouver.
