Interactive activities, manipulations, experiments through play and discoveries through science popularization are on the agenda for the whole family to enjoy, while respecting all sanitary measures. To enter Montréal Science Centre and IMAX®TELUS Theatre, anyone over the age of 12 will need to show their vaccination passport when they arrive along with a valid piece of ID. Mini Mondo: a new permanent exhibition for 0-7 year olds Mini Mondo, the new permanent exhibition created and designed by the Science Centre, is an immersion in eco-citizenship for children from 0 to 7 year-old. Through three environments that reflect places known to them: the forest, the river and the city, Mini Mondo offers a welcoming and inspiring space for families. This exhibition offers a fascinating and interactive universe where children can better discover their environment. Object manipulation, auditory stimulation and free play are on the agenda to awaken the senses! Mini Mondo is also offered in four languages, in addition to French and English, in order to better represent the Montreal population, which frequently communicates in Arabic, Creole, Spanish and Mandarin. New features for a full science experience The Science Centre is marking its long-awaited reopening with several other new features, such as Explore, a huge exhibition dedicated to scientific principles. This exhibition, which opened to the public only a few months before the pandemic, is worth a visit with its seven interactive sections. A unique experience where young and old discover the interconnection of scientific knowledge through experimentation and free exploration. The European Union’s Copernicus exhibition also offers the opportunity to see some of the most emblematic Canadian and European landscapes. A unique collection of 24 images captured by a constellation of satellites. IMAX Superpower Dogs 3D It is also the time to immerse yourself into the various universes created for visitors: Fabrik, Human, Digesto, Water in the Universe, The Windmills of the Imagination and of course, the IMAX® TELUS Theatre, to experience an unforgettable day at the Montréal Science Centre. The pandemic and the importance of science The past few months have been challenging, but the Science Centre has successfully overcome them. Despite its temporary closure, and the celebration of its 20th anniversary in a virtual format, the Centre reached out to French and English-speaking audiences around the world through the spreading of its scientific content and activities on the web and through social media. More than ever, the work of scientists and the importance of their profession will have attracted the interest of young and old alike, a mission that the Science Centre has been pursuing for more than twenty years.
