Starting July 30, at 5:00 pm, passers-by, residents, joggers and tourists alike will need to be on the lookout, because… The CIRCUS is coming! For the occasion, three leading Quebec contemporary circus companies – Cirque Éloize, Les 7 Doigts and Cirque Alfonse – will offer free performances, every Friday evening (5:00 to 8:00 pm), Saturday (11:00 am to 7:30 pm) and Sunday (11:00 am to 5:00 pm) at the Old Port of Montreal and in the streets of Old Montreal! Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from July 30 to September 5, 2021 De mille feux // by Cirque Éloize at the Old Port of Montreal, from July 30 to August 15 Emerging from a strange pink box, crazy characters invade the Old Port of Montreal in search of a new lease on life. After a storm that left them speechless, these castaways will find inspiration through circus, poetry and music. From spark to pulse, to the great whirlwind of life that finally resumes, it is a true rebirth! De mille feux unfolds in spontaneous performances in the heart of the Old Port. Brume // by Les 7 Doigts at the Old Port of Montreal, August 20 to September 5 As the fog lifts and the circus emerges from the clouds, a collective of artists has gathered to perform once again for an art-hungry public. Moving through the urban landscape, ephemeral artistic moments will push the boundaries of circus technique in a nod to traditional circus by putting the audience on the edge of their seats with moments of pure acrobatic virtuosity. It’s time to resurface in front of a live audience and share with them our love of audacity and circus arts. Welcome to BRUME! Rouille // by Cirque Alfonse in Old Montreal, from July 30 to September 5 Cirque Alfonse brings the workers and sailors of yesteryear back to life in the streets of Old Montreal! Artists from the famous Saint-Alphonse-Rodriguez company take this historic district by storm, evoking the sound of old horse-drawn carriages on the cobblestones, the stories of railroad workers and the excitement of the arrival of cargo ships. True to its tradition, Cirque Alfonse revisits a part of the past, offering amazing performances, scattered inside the old fortifications. They will be accompanied for the occasion by several Montreal circus artists. For more information visit: www.tohu.ca
