From Mozart to McCartney – Live and online LiveEvents May 30, 2021 1531 Orchestre classique de Montréal presents From Mozart to McCartney In collaboration with Festival Classica, the OCM presents a wonderfully eclectic concert to close its 82nd season. Mozart’s famous ”Jupiter” Symphony, the Double Concerto for Guitar and Bandoneon by Piazzolla, and arrangements of songs by Paul McCartney, ex-member of The Beatles, interpreted by OCM’s Quatuor classique, will surely make this concert a unique and captivating experience. Artists Adam Cicchillitti, Guitar There were several media accolades in 2017 for Montreal-born guitarist Adam Cicchillitti. The renowned American magazine Classical Guitar called him “a superb Canadian guitarist” and CBC Music included him on its list of Canada’s top thirty most promising young musicians in classical music, describing him as an “ardent ambassador for classical guitar.” His debut album Canciones, which was financed by the Canada Council for the Arts and MusicAction, was released in early 2018 under the Analekta label. The CBC music flagship classical music program In Concert mentioned that “every note stands out, like the brilliant distinct colours of a masterpiece by Pablo Picasso” when describing Adam’s debut album Denis Plante, Bandoneon Denis Plante grew up in an artistic family in Montreal, surrounded by early music instruments, costumes and theatre set pieces. After a stint in Argentina he settled in Quebec, where he founded the ensemble Tango Boréal. A consummate bandoneon player and charismatic soloist, he is prominent in the national and international tango community and is a frequent guest artist with orchestras and chamber ensembles. He has received multiple awards for his impressionistic creations and compositions. Boris Brott, Conductor Boris Brott is one of the most internationally recognized Canadian conductors, holding major posts as Music Director and Principal Guest Conductor in Canada, Europe and the United States.
