Helium Cosmik is a Quebec-based music group that offers contemporary folk-rock with a uniquely original sound, highlighted by the unexpected presence of the harp.

At the beginning of 2012, Jonathan Bédard (singer, lyricist, and guitarist) was looking for collaborators for his new original music project. Seeking unusual sounds and instrumentation, he decided to find a harp player to record a few tracks for the new demo he was currently working on. A friend then introduced him to harpist Myriam Reid.

Helium CosmikWas it a coincidence or fate? The meeting of the two musicians would prove decisive. Despite their varied and seemingly incompatible influences, an extraordinary connection quickly developed. The musical bond that developed proved so inspiring that Jonathan invited Myriam to participate fully in his project. What was initially intended to be only a brief collaboration thus transformed into a true partnership. In time, Yohann Boudreault (bassist) and Mathieu Tessier (drummer) would join the band.

Helium Cosmik offers lively and catchy music with a particularly original sound, with the harp adding an unusual color. The musical style, which reflects diverse influences, is sometimes energetic, sometimes nuanced, and can be defined as contemporary folk-rock with a Quebecois accent.

Helium Cosmik’s music is intended to be unifying and inclusive. Through its energy as much as its sounds, it appeals to an audience of all ages. The topics covered are by turns lighthearted, profound, and nostalgic, often inviting us to delve into our memories and past experiences.

The 100% French lyrics proudly showcase the more colorful facets of the French language. The lyrics, inspired by everyday anecdotes, are beautifully colored with typically Quebecois accents and expressions.

Let yourself be drawn into this world where memories and everyday stories are set to music in a warm and festive atmosphere.
