A subtle blend of impertinent humor, spellbinding duos and color-filled surrealism!

To start the new year off right, TOHU has invited one of the world’s most prestigious show companies, the Australian troupe Circa, a favorite with Quebecers for years now. After a lightning visit in the summer of 2024, Circa is back on Montreal soil to present DUCK POND again from February 5 to 9, 2025. A touching, funny and captivating experience: Swan Lake revisited in a playful, likeable tale, filled with feats that only Circa’s acrobats can pull off.

Presented as a Canadian premiere at the last edition of MONTRÉAL COMPLÈTEMENT CIRQUE, DUCK POND brilliantly reinvents the famous romantic ballet Swan Lake. Under the direction of the visionary Yaron Lifschitz, Circa has produced this acrobatic version for all ages, adding its own exuberant touch, bringing together with wonderful flair the grace of ballet and the effervescence of circus.

With ten acrobats in the prestigious troupe, haute couture costumes from Libby McDonnell, music by Jethro Woodward (with touches of Tchaikovsky) and lighting by Alexander Berlage, this production is a top-level work from every point of view.

An extraordinary adventure alongside swans and hapless princes, as spectators touch down in the eccentric world of an army of ducks with sequined flippers before being enchanted by the sumptuous aerial performances of a burlesque black swan.
