Teesri Duniya Theatre presents

Two Birds One Stone

Newly updated and set in Montreal, Two Birds One Stone is timelier than ever. Playwrights Natasha Greenblatt, a Jewish Canadian, and Rimah Jabr a Muslim Palestinian, are theatre makers and friends based in Toronto who both have a connection to a house in Israel/Palestine. They came together to write the heartfelt and charged conversation, Two Birds One Stone. The writers are depicted on stage by actors Dalia Charafedine and Natasha Fagant, directed by Murdoch Schon. With humour and powerful themes, the semi-autobiographical play asks complicated questions about identity, privilege and the search for home. Rahul Varma, artistic director of Teesri Duniya Theatre is proud to present this important show playing at Rangshala Studio at Cité-des-Hospitalières from October 25- November 5. Continuing their mandate to encourage dialogue, the company will hold post-show talkbacks.

Two Birds One Stone crisscrosses history and reveals hidden actualities about the war—depicting dozens of eye-opening characters on both sides of the wall. Here, the personal and the political meet in friendship. It offers a compelling narrative that delves into the complexities of freedom, and sparks discussion long after the show has ended.

The intimate, beautifully designed Two Birds One Stone is a candid, compassionate and politically engaged exploration of friendship, with humour and heart.

There will be a post-show talkback after opening night, and 2 special moderated panels – Women, Friendship and Faith, after the matinee on November 2 and Art After a Year of Genocide; Reflection and Discussion on closing night, November 5, as well as informal talkbacks after each show.
