KOKOROKO – October 15, 2024 LiveEvents October 7, 2024 56 Le Festival International de Jazz de Montréal presents KOKOROKO KOKOROKO are a young, London based Afrobeat 8-Piece band led by trumpeter Sheila Maurice-Grey, playing a fusion of Jazz and Afrobeat. In February 2019 they were named “ones to watch” by the Guardian, after their track “Abusey Junction” garnered 57 million views on YouTube. In February 2020 they won Best Group at the Urban Music Awards. In September 2020 they played BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall. Their debut full-length album, Could We Be More was released in 2022.
