Rousso

Always immersed in music, Xavier Rousseau began playing keyboard at age 4. He was admitted to the Montreal Conservatory of Music at the age of 12 under the teachings of the renowned Raoul Sosa, then Richard Raymond. He completed his master’s degree in piano with André Laplante, in classical interpretation.

A classical pianist by training, he has left his mark in numerous competitions for emerging musicians. Rousso now moves from electro to jazz/pop composition with disconcerting ease.

Winner of the André-Gagnon prize for songwriter of the year, virtuoso pianist Rousso now returns to Place des Arts. Accompanied by other talented musicians, he will play, among other things, original compositions from his two albums, Iceberg and Rosemont.

Rousso’s warm and spontaneous personality inevitably draws you into his colorful, vibrant, grandiose and happy world. It is also with real pleasure that he shares his creative process with the audience.
