Often thought to have been composed as his own funeral music, this ultimate masterpiece is a hauntingly beautiful testament to his genius. This performance will also feature Mozart’s Symphony No. 41 (the “Jupiter Symphony”) and Ave Verum Corpus. Artists Ensemble Caprice Ensemble Caprice has made its mark as one of the most sought-after ensembles on the classical music scene. Caprice has gained a solid reputation for its innovative programming and vibrant, compelling performances. Matthias Maute, conductor Matthias Maute has achieved an international reputation as conductor, recorder and flute player and as a composer. Mr. Maute is esteemed for his artistic direction of Ensemble Caprice, for whom he produces ingenious and fascinating programs. With this ensemble he regularly appears at major festivals world wide. In Canada he has performed at the Ottawa Chamber Music Festival, Festival international du Domaine Forget and Elora Festival among others. Myriam Leblanc, soprano The young coloratura soprano Myriam Leblanc is recognized for her timbre of great purity, for her supple and warm voice and her great mastery in both technical and musical expressiveness. Formerly a member of the Atelier lyrique of Montreal Opera, Myriam Leblanc has been a guest soloist of prestigious: Montreal Symphonic Orchestra, Trois-Rivières Symphonic Orchestra, Québec Symphonic Orchestra, Saskatoon Symphonic Orchestra and Metropolitain Orchestra. Florence Bourget, mezzo-soprano Canadian Montréal based mezzo-soprano/contralto Florence Bourget holds a Master’s degree (with honours) from Université de Montréal and is an alum of the Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal. She has performed roles such as Sesto (La clemenza di Tito), The Third Lady (Die Zauberflöte), Wellgunde (Das Rheingold), Mrs. Grose (The Turn of the Screw) and Alisa (Lucia di Lammermoor). Her experience also includes contemporary repertoire such as the Angel 2 in George Benjamin’s Written on Skin at Opéra de Montréal and the creation of Albertine en cinq temps – L’opéra based on Michel Tremblay’s text. In addition to the operatic stage, Florence is frequently seen on the concert and oratorio stages with prestigious organisations including Orchestre Métropolitain, Symphonic Orchestras of Montréal, Québec and Laval, I Musici de Montréal, Arion Orchestre Baroque, the Festival Classica, The Grands Ballets Canadiens and the Ensemble contemporain de Montréal. Jean-Michel Richer, tenor Rising young tenor Jean-Michel Richer is a Curtis Institute of Music graduate and an Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal alumni, where he received the Mario Létourneau’s Excellence Award. In the past few years, Jean Michel Richer sang Florestan in Leonore at the Kennedy Center in Washington, François in A quiet place at Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, the title role of Faust with Orchestre Symphonique de Trois-Rivières, the father in Another Brick in the Wall with Opéra de Montréal and Cincinnati Opera, Gonzalve in L’heure espagnole with Opéra National de Lorraine, Don Ottavio of Don Giovanni with l’Opéra de Montréal and Saskatoon Opera and Vallier in Les Feluettes with l’Opéra de Montréal and Pacific Opera Victoria. Dion Mazerolle, bariotone Acadian baritone Dion Mazerolle has forged a solid reputation in Canada and Europe as an artist of the highest calibre. A former member of the Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal, he is acclaimed for his musical finesse and strong stage presence, both in opera and in concert. Ensemble ArtChoral Ensemble ArtChoral is a professional choir steeped in the grand tradition of choral music in Quebec for over 40 years, with the mission to present professional choral music in Québec, Canada and internationally. The choir is recipient of the PRIX OPUS Musical Event of the Year 2020.
