PPS Danse presents

Perles

Perles proposes a non-linear narrative through time, words and music that mark our society. This journey invites dance and music to meet in different places, to make some pearls of the Quebec song repertoire resonate, from the 1960s to today.

Bringing together dancers, musicians and singers on stage, this PPS Danse project is once again part of a desire to weave links between disciplines and to integrate several choreographic signatures. A fine work of crossing and overlapping, these multiple views converge towards a narrative that tells our world by evoking the themes of love, identity and territory at different times. In this way, a diversity of melodic and choreographic writings become one with the words and music to open up a fruitful field of possibilities.

PPS Danse

Since its founding in 1989 by choreographer, dancer and stage director Pierre-Paul Savoie (1955-2021), PPS Danse has pursued a mission to create and stage choreographic works in the dance-theatre genre. Through the years, PPS Danse has added cultural initiatives to its activities, maintaining its position as a pillar in Quebec’s dance community by investing in three major areas: the young audience, the general public and cultural initiatives.

The company has given over 850 performances, presenting some 30 works in a dozen countries in America, Europe and Asia. Regardless of the area of creation, each work is marked by interdisciplinarity in form and humanity in content.
