Marcel Proust: Music Remembered – November 20, 2022 LiveEvents November 13, 2022 918 Bourgie Hall presents Marcel Proust: Music Remembered Straight to the heart of Marcel Proust’s world, this concert commemorates the centenary of the author’s death by spotlighting chamber music by some of his favourite composers: Debussy, Fauré, Franck, Hahn, and Ravel. Excerpts will be read from his magnum opus In Search of Lost Time alongside the music, illuminating the exquisite sensitivity and the genius of this writer. Artists Alicia Choi, violin Korean-American violinist Alicia Choi is a passionate performer and engaging educator of chamber music. Alicia holds degrees from Williams College and the Juilliard School. A graduate of Williams College and The Juilliard School, Alicia holds a Doctor of Music in violin performance from McGill University Schulich School of Music, where she has been an Instructor of Chamber Music since 2017. Thomas Beard, cello From Wingham, Ontario, Thomas Beard is principal cellist of l’Orchestre de l’Agora, and assistant principal cellist of l’Orchestre symphonique de Sherbrooke. After studying for a Bachelor of Music Performance at Wilfrid Laurier University (with Paul Pulford) and McGill University (with Yegor Dyachkov), Thomas then completed an Artist Diploma and Master of Music Performance at McGill University with Yegor Dyachkov. Jeanne Amièle, piano Canadian pianist Jeanne Amièle is regularly featured in solo recitals and chamber music concerts in Quebec. Jeanne Amièle is a Doctor of Music. She trained with pianist and Professor Jean Saulnier at the University of Montreal, where she received a scholarship from the Joseph-Armand Bombardier Graduate Scholarships Program for her doctoral studies and research on memorization at the piano. She also studied at the Haute École de Musique in Geneva, Switzerland with Professor Dominique Weber on an international exchange program. In 2019, she was been appointed as a sessional lecturer of Piano Performance at the University of Montreal Faculty of Music, and as of September 2021, she is a Professor of Piano at the Conservatoire de musique de Trois-Rivière.
