Samba Dance Evening

At this evening of dance highlighting samba, the music, colors, and rhythms of samba no pé—the type of impromptu samba danced at the Carnival in Rio—will immerse you in the splendours of Brazil! Follow the steps of dancer and instructor Mel from the Academia Samba Jeri, accompanied by the musicians of Ritmistas Mtl. The evening will continue with more music by the group Capital du Samba, followed by Alexis Dj Caron to keep you on your feet until 10 pm!

6 pm: Site and bars open
7 pm to 8 pm: Introductory lessons with Mel from the Academia Samba Jeri and the group Ritmistas Mtl
8 pm to 9 pm: Open dance with musical performances
9 pm to 10 pm: Alexis DJ Caron

New this year: drinks and snacks will be available at the Festival’s bars, as soon as the site opens at 6 pm.

The L’Art en soi Festival features six festive “Soirées dansantes”—dance evenings—with introductory lessons on various styles of dance, live music, and DJs: samba, disco and waacking, Guinean dance, Bollywood, Latin dance, and country. Five “Midis dansés”—lunchtime dances—are also on the program to get you moving at midday! It’s a date, on the Esplanade at Place des Arts, from September 15 to 24!
