The Patton Oswalt Gala

Actor, writer, comedian and award-winning performer, Patton Oswalt is returning to Just For Laughs this summer to host his very own Gala! Patton will be accompanied by a lineup of talented comedians for an incredible evening full of laughs.

Patton Oswalt

Patton Oswalt is a multi-hyphenate talent (actor, writer, comedian) and award-winning performer. From his comedy specials to more than 200 film and television roles including Parks and Recreation, for which he received a TV Critics Choice Award, Oswalt chooses work that inspires him and entertains audiences.

He recently co-created M.O.D.O.K., a Marvel stop-motion animated adult comedy series for Hulu as well as voicing the titular character, and currently co-stars as ‘Principal Durbin’ on the NBC Universal comedy A.P. Bio, produced by Seth Meyers, Mike O’Brien, and Lorne Michaels. Oswalt also recently served as the lead voice of ‘Max’ in The Secret Life of Pets 2.

In 2020, Oswalt’s Emmy nominated Netflix special I Love Everything was widely applauded upon release – “I Love Everything…is one of the best stand-up sets you’ll see this year,” according to RogerEbert.com; he also received a Grammy nomination for his comedy album of the same name. In 2017, he received Grammy and Emmy nominations for his album and Netflix special Annihilation, which addresses his own devastating loss and dealing with the unexplainable, while making it all painfully funny.  In 2016, he won the Emmy for ‘Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special’ for his sixth comedy special Talking for Clapping and a Grammy Award in 2017 for his comedy album of the same name. He has been nominated for a total of 6 Grammys and 4 Emmys.

He also provided the voice for ‘Remy’ the rat, in Brad Bird’s Oscar-winning Ratatouille, and played one of the “white voices” in the widely-praised indie film Sorry To Bother You, (the directorial debut of Boots Riley). Oswalt also voiced the titular character on the hit SYFY series Happy! as well as characters on other TV shows such as “The Boys,” “Family Guy,” “Rick and Morty,” “Archer,” “BoJack Horseman,” “We Bare Bears,” “The Simpsons,” “Bob’s Burgers,” “Aqua Teen Hunger Force,” and “Word Girl.”  He is also the narrator on ABC’s hit comedy “The Goldbergs.”

As a comedian, Oswalt has shot eight TV specials and released seven critically acclaimed albums — in 2009, Patton received his first of six Grammy nominations for his album My Weakness Is Strong (Warner Brothers Records).

Both of his published books Zombie Spaceship Wasteland (2011) and Silver Screen Fiend (2015) are New York Times Best Sellers.


Laurie KilmartinLaurie Kilmartin

Laurie Kilmartin is a comedian and staff writer for CONAN. She has performed standup on CONAN, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Late Late Show with James Corden, Apple TV, Comedy Central, and Showtime. Her Seeso special 45 Jokes About My Dead Dad made Vulture’s list of Top Ten Comedy Specials of 2016. Laurie has also written two books, Dead People Suck and the New York Times bestseller Shitty Mom. She and fellow comic Jackie Kashian host a popular podcast about standup comedy called The Jackie and Laurie Show. Her new album, Corset, was released at #1 on the iTunes charts.


Pete HolmesPete Holmes

Pete Holmes is a comedian, writer, actor, cartoonist, podcast host, and author. His book, Comedy Sex God (Harper Collins) explores Pete’s relationship with faith and comedy. His popular podcast, You Made It Weird, is a comedic exploration of the meaning of life, with guests ranging from Seth Rogen to Blake Griffin. Pete also created and starred in the semi-autobiographical HBO show Crashing, which he executive produced alongside Judd Apatow. An accomplished stand-up with three hour-long television specials and innumerous late-night appearances, he continues to tour regularly to sold-out crowds.


Vir DasVir Das

Vir Das is a stand-up comedian and actor who is becoming a global comedy sensation, filling an international vacancy for an authentic Indian perspective, receiving an Emmy nomination for his stand-up special For India, and being hailed by Variety magazine as a “Top 10 Comic To Watch.” Vir will next be seen in the Judd Apatow film The Bubble for Netflix, premiering April 1, 2022. Vir was the first comedian from India to have a stand-up special on Netflix, which since resulted in a multi-special deal with the platform for them to be the exclusive distributor of his stand-up. Since then, Vir has written and produced four Netflix specials in five years. The most recent one, Outside In, was shot entirely in quarantine with audience members virtually attending from around the world, and he just received an international Emmy nomination for the special before that, For India. Outside of his Bollywood films, Vir starred as an actor in the ABC spy dramedy Whiskey Cavalier, the Randall Park and and Constance Wu starring sitcom Fresh Off the Boat, and the Netflix series Hasmokh, which Vir created and executive produced.

Vir climbed the ranks of the Bollywood elite in various films to become a leading man with impenetrable comedic chops. Through his various tours, he has sold over half a million tickets as a stand up and became the biggest English speaking comedian in India. He has cemented himself as one of the country’s top stand-ups, actors, writers, musicians, and festival producers, and is now making a global impact.

Vir has traversed the globe on his various stand-up tours, performing on on six continents, including sold-out runs in Australia and at London’s prestigious Soho Theatre. He has also been featured at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as well as the Montreal Just For Laughs comedy festival and has made multiple television appearances on Conan.


Randy FeltfaceRandy Feltface

Randy Feltface has spent over fifteen years carving out a unique niche on the international comedy circuit. He was nominated for best comedy at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, sold out in London and New York, and featured several times at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival. He has released five comedy specials and made his US television debut as a crowd favourite on NBC’s Bring The Funny. His live show is a high energy existential crisis full of the kind of amusing anecdotes and biting observations that have earned him the title of World’s Most Entertaining Non-Human Comedian.


Ola DadaOla Dada

Nigerian-born comedian Ola Dada, has been performing stand up for five years. But his start in comedy wasn’t intentional – his first performance was completely off the cuff when he got on stage at a comedy club to try to make his friends in the audience laugh. He has since made a name for himself in the Vancouver comedy scene, appearing at the Vancouver Just For Laughs festival in 2020. In 2019, he garnered success as a runner-up in the Canada-wide “SiriusXM Top Comic Competition” and appeared on CBC’s The New Wave of Stand Up. He is one the faster raising stars in the country with is recent appearance on the newest Season of Canada’s Got talent on City TV (2022) and his debut comedy album with 604 Records called DADA PLAN . Ola has opened for international comedian Godfrey. He also flexes his creativity by creating sketches that he posts on his social media platforms. Ola is known for his fun, light-hearted comedy and uses his life experience as material – being raised in Fort McMurray in a Nigerian home, living in Vancouver and the contrast in values and views on life, religion and relationships.


Rachel FeinsteinRachel Feinstein

Rachel is a nationally touring comedian and actress. Huffington Post called her “the only comedian we’ve seen who can go from embodying her grandmother in one breath and a predatory guy on the street in the next and be equally convincing at both.” She has had three Comedy Central specials, including the most recent ‘Amy Schumer Presents Rachel Feinstein: Only Whores Wear Purple’. Rachel recently recurred on the Steven Soderbergh Amazon series RED OAKS and on Judd Apatow’s HBO comedy CRASHING. She also guest starred on Bravo’s ODD MOM OUT. Her past credits include TRAINWRECK, TOP FIVE, THE NIGHTLY SHOW WITH LARRY WILMORE, HBO’s LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLIVER, co-hosting THE VIEW on multiple occasions and several appearances on INSIDE AMY SCHUMER. You may also remember Rachel co-hosting alongside Shaq on UPLOAD WITH SHAQUILLE O’NEAL. Feinstein has also lent her voice to Adult Swim’s VENTURE BROTHERS and the phenomenally successful GRAND THEFT AUTO video game franchise. Her latest special premiered on March 20, 2018 as part of Netflix’s half hour series THE STANDUPS.


Sindhu VeeSindhu Vee

Sindhu Vee is an award-winning comedian, writer and actor. Since swapping a career in investment banking for one in comedy, Sindhu has fast become one of the most exciting and sought-after talents on the UK circuit. In 2018 Sindhu took her eagerly-anticipated debut hour, Sandhog, to the Edinburgh Fringe and was nominated for the prestigious Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer. After the Fringe, Sindhu took Sandhog to the Soho Theatre for two soldout runs and on a hugely successful 92 date UK tour.

Sindhu’s television career is firmly established. She has twice appeared on BBC Two’s Live At The Apollo, most recently as host, and has guested on BBC panel shows Mock The Week, QI & Have I Got News For You. Sindhu is also a soughtafter actor, with roles in the critically acclaimed Netflix shows Feel Good and Sex Education in 2020 and the recent announcement of her casting as Mrs Phelps in upcoming Netflix feature film adaptation of Matilda.

In 2018 Sindhu wrote and hosted her own series, Sindhustan, on Radio 4. She returned to the station last summer with her new series, Things My Mother Never Told Me About Lockdown. Sindhu also co-hosts the Child Labour podcast with Stuart Goldsmith for Radio X.

Sindhu also has a strong international fanbase. She has performed to sold-out houses in India, plus performed her stand up for NDTV’s Rising Stars of Comedy.


Andrea JinAndrea Jin

Andrea Jin is a stand-up comedian and writer born in Shanghai, currently based in Vancouver BC. She was just selected as a New Face at Just for Laugh’s Montreal Festival, and has performed at JFL Northwest, SiriusXM’s Top Comic, Seattle International Comedy Competition, CBC’s The Debaters, and the Winnipeg Comedy Festival. Her writing has been featured on Vice, CBC Comedy, and the Vancouver Sun among other publications. You can hear her on JFL’s Best of the West Comedy Album and on her debut solo comedy album, ‘Grandma’s Girl’, which was awarded the Juno (Canadian Grammy Award) for Best Comedy Album of 2021.
