Montreal Comiccon returns to Palais des congrès July 8-10, 2022. After suffering postponements and setbacks in 2020 and 2021 at the hands of the villain known as COVID-19, the 12th edition of Montreal Comiccon will make a rousing superhero comeback and welcome once again one the largest gatherings of comic book, manga, anime, video game, cinema, collectibles, and pop culture fans in North America.

The program will feature more than 100 activities over the course of three days, including celebrity autograph sessions and photo ops, live panels with famous guests, wildly entertaining workshops, cinematic concerts, intense board game tournaments, and much, much more. Cosplay amateurs and champions will re-emerge into the light, don their dazzling costumes, and compete in the epic Masquerade, presented by Fabricville. World-renowned and local comic book masters and illustrators will repopulate Artists’ Alley and share their marvelous skills. Be on the lookout for body-paint artist Alexandra Bastien’s bigger-than-life canvas, which will come alive over the course of the 3 days. The fantastic Family Zone will reopen its gates with NERF battles and archery lessons hosted by Sports de combats to welcome not only kids, but all of their family members.

It would not be a Montreal Comiccon without the participation of spectacular costuming fan groups. Their passionate members create and wear elaborate costumes that thrill crowds of all ages and raise vital funds for Children’s Hospitals, Make-a-Wish Foundation and other life-saving endeavours. The 12th edition will mark the fierce return of La Forteresse Impériale, Quebec’s 501st Legion garrison, a celebrated member of the world’s premier Imperial Star Wars costuming fan club; The Doctor Who Society of Canada, which shall arrive with their TARDIS and army of Daleks; and the Klingon Assault Group (KAG), an international Star Trek fan organization with a sweet spot for Klingons. The 405th Infantry Division, a global Halo prop and costume replica group, will make its first appearance and bring joy to loyalists of the blockbuster video game franchise and Paramount+’s new hit television series.

Montreal Comiccon is the place where celebrity encounters of the third kind happen. Since its foundation, Montrealers have flocked to the event to meet the stars and creators of their favourite shows. The 2022 edition will be packed with a multitude of beloved faces from the worlds of fantasy, sci-fi and comics, including guests of honour, Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange, Star Trek Generations) and Dave Foley (Kids in the Hall, NewsRadio, Will & Grace); British vampire and supervillain, James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Smallville); Matthew Lewis and Bonnie Wright (Harry Potter film series); Jim Beaver (Supernatural, Deadwood); Laz Alonso (The Boys, Avatar, The Fast and the Furious); Jessie T.
