Jouer avec le temps

by photographer Benoit Z. Leroux

Benoit Z. Leroux’s photographs demonstrate his discovery of the circus world and the encounters that were born from it. Exchanges and creative collaborations with great artists sometimes give astonishing, poetic and intimate results, whether it is through photos captured in a fraction of a second or in long exposure. The varied works have been taken in action during the representations as well as one on one with acrobats – in the streets of Montreal, in theaters or in studios. Through the diversity of techniques, Jouer avec le temps offers a different perspective of the circus world and its artists.

“The various works were shot as much in the action of shows as alone with acrobats; in the streets of Montreal, in theaters or in studios.”
