The Four Seasons of Vivaldi

An evening with the violinist Isabella d’Éloize Perron is guaranteed to be filled with discovery and delight. Performed by the Ensemble Classico-Moderne, The Four Seasons of Vivaldi will be carried by a breath of fresh air, while Astor Piazzolla’s The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires will immerse us in the sensual universe of Argentine tango.

Francis Choinière, conductor

Named as one of the CBC’s “30 hot Canadian classical musicians under 30,” in 2020, Francis Choinière is a versatile musician active as a conductor, concert producer, pianist, and composer. Francis has collaborated with some of the world’s top international artists having been engaged as chorus master and collaborative conductor for concerts with Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman, Ramin Djawad, Hans Zimmer and Jonsi & Alex Somers.

Choinière holds positions of Artistic Director and Conductor of the OPCM (Orchestre Philharmonique et Choeur des Mélomanes), Principal Conductor and Co Artistic Director of l’Orchestre FILMharmonique, and Conductor of the Choeur Fernand Lindsay for the Festival de Lanaudière collaborating with conductors such as Stephan Layton (Trinity College) and Corrado Rovaris (Philadelphia Opera).

Choinière is highly engaged in the Canadian music scene. As the co-founder and President of GFN Productions, he is passionate expanding and developing classical music audiences through the presentation of new symphonic programs with film including Fantasia, Star Wars, Titanic and Lord of the Rings.

Choinière completed his Master’s Degree at McGill University in conducting with Alexis Hauser and has received many scholarships and prizes including the prestigious Hnatyshyn Foundation, Christa and Franz-Paul Decker Conducting Fellowship. He has refined his conducting in masterclasses with renowned conductors including, Francois Xavier Roth, Yoav Talmi, and Colin Metters.

Isabella d’Éloize Perron, violin

Radio Canada’s Classical Revelation for 2020-2021, violinist, violist, vocalist, and pianist Isabella D’Éloize Perron shows astonishing maturity and musicality that is both unique and sincere. She had her debut as a soloist at age 7 with the I Musici String Ensemble, and has since appeared with numerous orchestras, including the Orchestre Métropolitain (Montréal), the Peninsula Symphony (San Francisco), National Theater Orchestra (Prague), the Calgary Philharmonic, and the Vancouver Symphony.

Her awards and distinctions include first prize at the National Music Festival of Canada (2014), first prize at the International Radio Competition for Young Musicians Concertino Praga (2015), second prize at the Klein International String Competition (2015), and second prize at CMC’s Stepping Stone (2019). For their 2017-2018 season, the Calgary Philharmonic named her as their “Emerging Artist”. In 2020, she was awarded NYO’s Michael Measures Prize through the Canada Council for the Arts. Isabella is currently completing her BMus with Erika Raum at the Glenn Gould School in Toronto.
