From November 4 to 11, 2021, it will be possible to bid on artworks and exclusive experiences to help the Museum pursue its artistic and social mission. In total, close to 70 lots will be on offer, with opening bids starting at $200. You are invited to take a look at the Auction catalogue and see what item, or items, speak to you. Discover works by local artists It was the task of Eunice Bélidor, Gail and Stephen A. Jarislowsky Curator of Quebec and Canadian Contemporary Art at the MMFA, to select the artists whose work would be put up for bidding at this year’s edition of the Auction. The public will therefore have the opportunity to garner one of the sought-after works on offer by such artists as Maude Corriveau, Eddie Firmin, Yann Pocreau, Jean-Benoît Pouliot and Martha Townsend. The participating artists and allergists will be compensated at market prices, while any amounts in excess will be disbursed to the MMFA Foundation. Unique experiences… sure to be to everyone’s liking! A Night at the Museum Auction participants will also be able to bid on memorable experiences: private tours of exhibitions or Museum galleries, artists’ studios or the Museum’s conservation workshops, a wine tasting guided by a sommelier from the RéZin agency, or an immersive experience at the home of a collecting couple. People who love art and have a taste for the unusual will once again be able to bid on the Night at the Museum in a splendid decor by Roche Bobois with a gourmet meal; foodies will definitely want to bid on the Brunch at the MMFA prepared under the direction of chef Olivier Perret from Sofitel and pastry chef Clément Tilly, or enjoy a Patrice Pâtissier experience with Tea at the Museum. Music lovers will be able to place bids on a private renowned concert by pianist Charles Richard-Hamelin and principal violin of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra Andrew Wan at Bourgie Hall, while people who are passionate about fashion will be happy to wear a tailored made-to-measure suit by Nathon Kong, graciously donated by An Lap VoDignard and Jennifer Nguyen. Finally, aficionados of nature can try their luck at gaining the exceptional lot of a visit to Bika Farm in Saint-Blaise-sur-Richelieu, which includes a tour of the property accompanied by chef Fisun Ercan, followed by a meal featuring local wines and the farm’s own products. Emblematic lots, to help sustain the MMFA The proceeds from these lots will be entirely devoted to supporting the Museum’s mission and ensuring the institution’s sustainability. It will therefore be possible to sponsor, for example, the restoration of a major work in the MMFA’s encyclopedic collection, an education and wellness activity, or a conference.
