To celebrate with enthusiasm the arrival of spring, the Opéra de Québec presents its upcoming production, Le Barbier de Séville by Gioachino Rossini, presented in a concert version. Broadcast without an audience from the Louis-Fréchette Hall of the Grand Théâtre de Québec, this production will be accessible for streaming beginning Saturday May 29, at 3:00 pm, on the Opéra de Québec website and YouTube channel.

Jean-Michel Malouf enjoys a flourishing career as a conductor, and he is already recognized for his remarkable precision, sensitivity and natural leadership. He was conductor-in-residence of I Musici de Montreal Chamber Orchestra where he conducted many concerts at the Maison Symphonique (Montreal) and at the National Arts Centre (Ottawa).

In recent years, he has also been invited to conduct the Orchestre Métropolitain (Montreal), the London Symphony (Ontario, Canada), Les Violons du Roy (Montreal) and the Ensemble contemporain de Montréal. Mr Malouf has been conducting the Greater Toronto Philharmonic Orchestra since 2008 and he was conductor-in-residence of the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra from 2015 to 2017. In 2016, he was officially nominated Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Orchestre symphonique du Saguenay—Lac-Saint-Jean.
