Concours musical international de Montréal

Discover the world’s finest young VIOLINISTS at the CMIM (Concours musical international de Montréal).

From May 27 to June 5, 24 violinists showcase their talent for the $102,500 first prize at this prestigious competition. First rounds are being held at Bourgie Hall.

Hear them in the Final Round on June 4 and 5, with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal led by guest conductor Alexander Shelley at the Maison symphonique. The Awards ceremony will follow the Final performances on June 5.

The CMIM seeks to discover and support exceptional young singers, violinists, and pianists from around the world while raising awareness for classical music. The CMIM is one of only two international competitions in North America to be held annually and to present three disciplines in a three-year rotation. Since its first edition dedicated to voice in 2002, 3,700 hopefuls have entered the competition and some 500 have performed in Montreal.
