Orchestre Métropolitain presents

Schumann’s Spring

Jordan de Souza, a Canadian conductor with a flourishing international career, leads the OM in a refreshing springtime concert. Delius’s cuckoo opens the evening with its allusions to Norwegian folklore. In Schumann’s Cello Concerto, soloist Maximilian Hornung displays the staggering musicality that has been his passport to the world’s greatest concert halls. Sibelius gives the orchestra an optimistic tone in his Spring Song, as does Schumann, who expresses his impatience for the return of warmer days in his Symphony No. 1, also known as the Spring Symphony.
