‘Twas Once an Apple OrchardHigh Line Hotel

The 1800’s built gothic revival building was originally a cloistered seminary, but history runs even deeper at the High Line. The grounds were once an apple orchard owned Clement Clarke Moore – the man who penned “Twas the Night before Christmas”. Since it was first published in 1823, this iconic poem describing a visit from the jolly old elf has become an abiding part of the holiday.
