Skate Canada International – October 26-28, Place Bell, Laval LiveEvents October 20, 2018 1801 Skate Canada International The inaugural Skate Canada International was held in 1973 in Calgary and the event was added to the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating in 1995, the year the series began. Laval will host the 45th installment of Skate Canada International and it will be their first time hosting a major skating event. Skate Canada International is the second competition in the annual International Skating Union (ISU) Grand Prix of Figure Skating series. The other events take place in the United States (Skate America), Russia (Rostelecom Cup), France (Internationaux de France), China (Cup of China) and Japan (NHK Trophy). Each skater/team can be assigned a maximum of two events. Skaters are awarded points based on their placements at their events.
