From Graupner to Mozart

Mozart’s art is rooted in both the Baroque and Rococo periods. Graupner’s attention to instrumental colour was far from being lost on composers from the Classical era. The natural horn, whose warm timbre evokes the great outdoors and the pleasures of hunting, was in the early stages of improvement.
