Ryan completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Concordia University and is currently in the process of completing a Graduate Diploma in Computer Science at Concordia. Ryan creates experimental dance performances for public spectacle. Her work discusses topics such as beauty, gender and the role of an audience in art. Her critical eye for design, fashion and theatre aid her in quality collaboration with various art organizations. Ryan has worked with Montreal’s Danse à la Carte, mDreams Stage, The Canada China International Film Festival and Les Cours Mont Royal. Ryan recently performed ‘Live Mannequins’ for Montreal’s Grand Prix Weekend (2017) in collaboration with Pinko Fashion Brand. New members welcome – men also. www.wasmtl.org or 514-495-3701 Craig Morrison, Ph.D., is an ethnomusicologist who teaches courses on popular music and its roots at Concordia University and lectures for various institutions including the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. He is the author of two books and numerous articles on music. As a bandleader and musician—on vocals, guitars, and keyboards—Morrison has produced 11 CDs. His band, Vintage Wine, performs regularly, and his Annual Roots of Rock and Roll Concert at the Oscar Peterson Concert Hall, each year with a different theme and with as many as 16 musicians and singers on stage, has been presented 20 times to date. www.craigmorrison.com The Women’s Art Society of Montreal invites you to become a member of our group, where you can connect with like-minded people who enjoy the arts. Founded in 1894 and incorporated in 1968, the Women’s Art Society of Montreal has played an important role in fostering awareness and understanding of the arts among the general public of the city. As one of the earliest organizations for women artists, the Women’s Art Society of Montreal helped pave the way for the integration of women into the art world. Nowadays, the Women’s Art Society is more social and educational than professional in nature since various opportunities and avenues of support are open to female artists.
