Quartet for the End of Time

On this day marking the 25th anniversary of Messiaen’s death, some of the OSM’s first chairs are joined by renowned Messiaen specialist Louise Bessette to pay tribute to one of the greatest French composers of the twentieth century. Among other works, they will perform the masterpiece Quartet for the End of Time, written by Messiaen in a German prisoner-of-war camp in 1940 and 1941.
