Isabelle Faust and Alexander Melnikov – November 10, Bourgie Hall LiveEvents November 2, 2016 2921 Isabelle Faust and Alexander Melnikov Isabelle Faust is a German-born violinist whose sound is described by The New York Times as having “passion, grit and electricity but also a disarming warmth and sweetness.” Russian pianist Alexander Melnikov, has been praised for his “wonderful color and imagination” (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung). Together their recording of the Beethoven sonatas received a Grammy nomination and won both a Gramophone Award and Germany’s ECHO Klassik Prize. The recording of Beethoven’s ten violin sonatas by Isabelle Faust and Alexander Melnikov for Harmonia Mundi was a critical triumph.
