The 18th edition of Homegrown Comics, hosted by The Kids in the Hall’s Scott Thompson will take place at 5e Salle in Place Des Arts on July 29 at 7:00 PM. Hosted By: Scott Thompson • You know him from The Kids in the Hall • Has entertained TV fans on hundreds of shows, such as The Larry Sanders Show, Providence, Pop Up Royals, My Fabulous Gay Wedding, and Reno 911 • The 2004 Genie Awards host has put his vocal talents to great use on animated shows like The Simpsons, Roboroach and Aqua Teen Hunger Force • Hosts the popular podcast “Scott Free” on iTunes • Tours as a solo stand-up comedian and as part of Two Kids One Hall with Kevin MacDonald Featuring: Sophie Buddle • She recently appeared on Meltdownwith Jonah and Kumail and Hot Tub with Kurt and Kristen • She has been a part of JFL NorthWest, formerly Northwest Comedy Fest for the past 3 years • She hopes to follow in her mother’s footsteps and one day retire Ryan Dillon • Born and raised in Newfoundland, he moved to Toronto in 2011 to pursue his comedy career • After graduating from The Humber Comedy Program and The Second City’s Conservatory, he sold out his first one-man show, 23 & Nothing To Say • He was recently a finalist for Sirius XM’s Top Comic at JFL42 • He just finished a run of his one man show, Collapse, at the Toronto Fringe Festival Chantel Marostica • She was featured on CBC’s Laugh Out Loud and Debaters, showcasing her high energy observational comedy style • She’s performed at many festivals, including Just For Laughs, Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Sirius XM’s “Top Comic Finals” and Thunder Bay Comedy Festival • Two-time winner of the Patrons Pick Award and Winnipeg Comedy Festival Best Female Comic nominee • She’s opened for Russell Peters, Tom Green, Judy Gold, Charlie Murphy Chris Robinson • He’s been performing across Canada for the past seven years • He’s been on Much Music’s Video On Trial, Sirius XM’s Canada Laughs and will be appearing this fall on CMT’s Almost Genius • NOW Magazine has described him as having “charisma and raw talent to burn” Daniel Carin • A Montreal stand up performer who’s been featured in Zoofest and comedy clubs throughout the city • Co-host/co-creator of Cult MTL’s #1 comedy show The Ladies & Gentlemen Comedy Show, along with comedian/spiritual guide Chris Sandiford • Ladies and Gentlemen sketch duo have performed at the Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal Sketch Fests, where they won the Best Local Troupe award in 2014 and appeared in the Best Of The Fest show in 2015 in Montreal Nigel Grinstead • He’s performed at NXNE, Cottage Country Comedy Festival and on No Kidding on iChannel • He is a regular fixture in the Toronto comedy scene and has been a part of two Canadian comedy tours, Hometown Heroes and On The Rocks Comedy Tour • His victory at Cream of Comedy 2013 won him a Tim Sim’s Encouragement Fund, a prize that recognizes up-and-coming comedians Mike Rita • Mike is the winner of the Cream of Comedy and host of Pot.Tv’s Stoner Sundays • A Toronto native who has quickly become one of Canada’s top comedians • He is a regular at Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Clubs and at Vapor Central in Toronto Keith Pedro • He’s appeared on Video On Trial and Degrassi: The Next Generation, as well as on MTV, CBC and XM/Sirius Satellite radio • Keith recently performed at the CBC Halifax Comedy Festival • He’s part of the etalk featured Toronto sketch troupe The Boom and has performed improv with Colin Mochrie Mayce Galoni • He’s been performing stand-up around Canada since the age of 15 • He’s a regular fixture at Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Clubs and has performed at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival • He has opened for Doug Stanhope, Colin Mochrie and Gilbert Gottfried • Winner of the the 2013 Brantford Comedy Festival Rising Stars Competition, the 2014 Go Yuk Yourself Comedy Competition, and the 2015 Border City Comedy Competition Jordan Chyzowski • He won Edmonton’s Funniest Person within his first year of stand-up • Jordan has performed at CBC’s Halifax Comedy Festival and the Calgary Comedy Festival • He has done a taping for Fox Laughs and works at Rick Bronson’s The Comic Strip For tickets and information: www.hahaha.com 514-845-2322 Just For Laughs The 34th edition of the Just For Laughs Festival promises to be the most star-studded lineup ever with TV and cinema’s biggest comedy names, top touring comedians, cult-favourites and up-and-comers all converging on Montreal this summer.
